On August 5, 2026, two Xingtai municipal science and technology program projects jointly organized by Xingtai Risun Technology and China Coal Risun Coking Research Institute—“Research and Development of Catalysts for Coordinated Removal of NMHC and CO from Coke Oven Flue Gas” and “High-Value Utilization of Coal-Coking Products for Carbon Nanotube and Catalyst Development”—successfully passed expert acceptance. This marks another significant breakthrough in Xingtai Park’s core technologies for green, low-carbon, and high-value utilization in coal coking.

The review meeting was conducted by a panel of five experts organized by the Xingtai Municipal Science and Technology Bureau. Relevant personnel from Xingtai Risun Technology and China Coal Risun Coking Research Institute participated in the project presentations.

  • Catalyst for Coordinated Removal of NMHC and CO from Coke Oven Flue Gas: Against the backdrop of increasingly stringent environmental regulations, this project addressed issues in aging coke ovens such as inadequate maintenance and flue gas leakage, which lead to elevated NMHC and CO emissions. The team successfully built a coke oven flue gas catalyst evaluation device and developed a catalyst capable of coordinated removal of NMHC and CO. Pilot-scale validation demonstrated effective removal performance, providing reliable technical support for ultra-low emission retrofits in the coking industry.

  • Carbon Nanotube Production from Coal-Coking Byproducts: This project tackled the problem of low-value utilization of gas and liquid byproducts rich in C–H components, which are often directly burned as fuel, resulting in low energy efficiency and waste of high-value carbon resources. By integrating nanomaterials science and catalytic chemistry, the team developed a dedicated catalyst system and preparation process tailored to mixed carbon sources from coking. They overcame raw material compatibility challenges and successfully produced high-quality carbon nanotubes from coking byproducts. This technology offers valuable reference for product structure upgrading and low-carbon transformation in coking enterprises.

During the acceptance process, the project team systematically explained the research background, project initiation, experimental procedures, innovative achievements, and future outlook, while providing detailed responses to expert inquiries. The presentations were rigorous and comprehensive, leading the expert panel to unanimously approve the acceptance.

The expert group also provided guidance and suggestions for further research and improvement, offering valuable direction for future achievement transformation. This will not only enhance subsequent scientific work but also inspire Risun’s researchers to actively engage in government science and technology programs, adding momentum to the Group’s innovation in scientific and technological achievements.
