(August 30, 2026) The first civil liquid hydrogen transport from Dingzhou China Risun Hydrogen Energy successfully departed and arrived at its strategic partner, China Automotive Technology & Research Center New Energy Vehicle Testing Co., Ltd. (“CATARC New Energy”), completing the inaugural delivery. This marks the official opening of the Dingzhou–Tianjin liquid hydrogen transport route and a major step forward in coordinated hydrogen industry development across Beijing, Tianjin, and Hebei.
This milestone represents China’s first large-scale civil liquid hydrogen cross-regional transport, filling a critical gap in compliant road logistics. It provides strong support for regional hydrogen collaboration, commercialization of liquid hydrogen storage and transport, and standardized hydrogen vehicle testing, accelerating the industrialization of liquid hydrogen nationwide.
Compared with gaseous hydrogen, liquid hydrogen offers higher energy density, greater transport efficiency, longer delivery radius, lower on-board storage costs, and higher purity—making it ideal for long-distance, high-precision, and high-standard applications. The inaugural shipment was independently executed by Dingzhou China Risun Hydrogen Energy, covering purification, cryogenic liquefaction, multi-stage quality inspection, and safe transport. The product meets national-level testing standards and fully supports CATARC New Energy’s demanding hydrogen needs in equipment testing, performance calibration, and type approval, establishing a new “production–research linkage” model for the industry.
CATARC New Energy is a leading domestic and world-class hydrogen technology service platform, home to the world’s largest hydrogen and fuel cell laboratory. With capabilities spanning the full hydrogen value chain—production, storage, transport, refueling, and application—it will now benefit from China Risun Hydrogen Energy’s stable, high-quality liquid hydrogen supply. Together, the two parties are building a deep strategic cooperation model of “storage and transport validation with research–production integration,” advancing technology iteration, standards development, and application expansion.
As the core platform of China Risun Group’s new energy strategy, China Risun Hydrogen Energy has since 2020 established a complete hydrogen industry chain across production, storage, transport, refueling, and application. It operates five high-purity hydrogen production lines with daily capacity of 34 tons, ranking second nationwide and first in the Beijing–Tianjin–Hebei region. The company has also launched China’s first fully localized 5-ton/day commercial liquid hydrogen plant and operates multiple integrated energy and hydrogen refueling stations. Its logistics fleet of 142 hydrogen-powered vehicles further strengthens the foundation for full-chain liquid hydrogen deployment.
Looking ahead, China Risun Hydrogen Energy will use this cross-regional transport as a starting point to build a stable liquid hydrogen supply system, expand long-haul heavy truck routes, and serve diverse high-end customers in research, electronics, and aerospace. With ongoing breakthroughs in liquid hydrogen technology and full-chain integration, the industry is expected to enter large-scale development during the 15th Five-Year Plan period, with rapid growth in application markets.
China Risun Hydrogen Energy will continue to leverage its closed-loop “production–storage–transport–refueling–application” advantages, expand its national hydrogen supply network, deepen cooperation with industry partners and local governments, and drive green, low-carbon development—contributing to the achievement of China’s “30・60” dual carbon goals.
