(Hong Kong, 26 November 2024) China Risun Group Limited ("China Risun" or “the Group”, stock code: 1907.HK) gladly announced that on November 21, 2024, the heat recovery and heating project for the synthetic section of Hebei Jinniu Risun Chemical Co., Ltd. ("Jinniu Risun") in Xingtai Park of the Group was successfully commissioned.

The project has a heating capacity of 16 megawatts per hour, sufficient to heat 400,000 square meters of residential housing in the city. Additionally, the change in heat exchange method saves 90 kWh of electricity per hour, 15 tons of desalinated water per hour, reduces carbon dioxide emissions by 147.82 tons per year, and increases economic benefits by approximately 1.5 million yuan per year.

The project replaces the water-cooling method with air cooling for the methanol synthesis gas. The circulating water absorbs the heat from the gas phase components, increases in temperature, and is then supplied to Risun Anneng Thermal Power for heating. The main process flow involves methanol synthesis gas (temperature 110°C, pressure 5.5-6.3 Mpa) from the preheater entering the newly added hot water heat exchanger. The circulating water (55°C) exchanges heat with the synthesis gas, raising its temperature to 80°C, then undergoes first-stage water heat exchange and is transported by Risun Anneng Thermal Power to the city's main heating pipeline, providing heating for residents.

This project is particularly noteworthy as a deep energy-saving, emission-reducing, carbon-cutting, and efficiency-enhancing initiative. It requires minimal investment, offers high return on investment, and short payback period, showcasing the organic integration of comprehensive resource utilization and cost reduction with efficiency improvement. It achieves both economic and social benefits, adding new capabilities and scale to the Group's Xingtai Park's urban heating facilities.

Using industrial waste heat for urban heating is a key civil engineering initiative in the Group’s qualified parks. It is an effective measure for comprehensive resource utilization, recycling, and energy-saving efficiency improvement.

Building on this foundation, Xingtai Park commissioned the Risun Anneng Thermal Power comprehensive waste heat utilization project with Cabot Risun on January 10, 2022, addressing the heating needs of many old residential areas in northwest Xingtai. Currently, Xingtai Park’s industrial waste heat heating covers 10 million square meters, operates 87 heat substations, serves 145 heat-using units, and has 71,000 heat users. Each heating season, Xingtai Park’s industrial waste heat projects help reduce standard coal consumption by 78,000 tons and carbon dioxide emissions by 202,800 tons, improving urban heating quality and capacity, and significantly contributing to Xingtai’s energy-saving, emission-reduction, and “dual carbon” targets.
