S&P Global recently released its 2024 corporate sustainability assessment (CSA) results for China Risun Group Co., Ltd. (1907.HK). The group has received an ESG score of 33 points, an improvement of 6 points from last year. Breaking it down further, the environmental dimension score increased by 3 points to 32, the social dimension score by 8 points to 32, and the governance dimension score by 6 points to 34. Additionally, China Risun Group's Hang Seng ESG rating for 2024 has risen from BBB to BBB+. These significant rating improvements not only reflect international recognition of their sustainability efforts but also demonstrate an enhancement in their overall capabilities and sustainable development.
China Risun Group consistently adheres to the philosophy of green development, actively engaging in green and clean transformation, and continually increasing environmental protection investments to promote energy conservation and emission reduction. In line with China's "carbon peak, carbon neutrality" strategy, the company has developed a "dual carbon" action plan and established research institutes focused on environmental protection, dual carbon, and hydrogen energy. By developing hydrogen energy businesses and exploring carbon capture, utilization, and storage (CCUS) pilot projects, China Risun Group aims to lead the clean and efficient transformation of the coal chemical industry.
Currently, all 11 production bases under China Risun Group have obtained ISO14001 environmental management system certification. The company boasts six national-level green factories and one provincial-level green factory, with plans to add two more municipal-level green factories this year. Their emission levels have reached ultra-low standards, and their energy consumption levels are better than the industry-leading standards.
In terms of carbon reduction, the company has actively increased the procurement and proportion of green electricity in various industrial parks. In the first half of 2024, their total green electricity procurement amounted to 268 million kWh, reducing carbon emissions by 221,700 tons. Specifically, the green electricity procurement ratio in the Tangshan and Hohhot parks has exceeded 50% of the total electricity purchased.
