On May 23, 2025, the National Spiritual Civilization Construction Commendation Conference was held in Beijing. The Central Propaganda Thought and Culture Leadership Group decided to award the title of "National Civilized City (District)" to 202 cities (districts), "National Civilized Village and Town" to 3,316 villages and towns, "National Civilized Unit" to 4,688 organizations, "National Civilized Family" to 798 households, and "National Civilized Campus" to 890 schools. Additionally, 60 individuals/groups were awarded the honor of "National Moral Model," and 239 individuals/groups received nominations for the title. One of the honored organizations, Risun Group Hebei Risun Energy Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Hebei Risun"), was named a National Civilized Unit.
The title of "National Civilized Unit" is granted by the central government to organizations that actively engage in spiritual civilization creation activities with outstanding achievements, setting a national example. It is one of the highest honors in the field of national spiritual civilization construction, awarded every three years. Hebei Risun began as a 200,000-ton-per-year coke enterprise acquired from Baoding Coking Plant and has grown into a large-scale circular economy chemical enterprise with an annual production capacity of 5 million tons of coke, 300,000 tons of methanol, 100,000 tons of synthetic ammonia, and 13 tons of high-purity hydrogen per day, among other achievements. The company has invested 12 billion yuan, paid 6.1 billion yuan in taxes, and has maintained annual revenue exceeding 10 billion yuan for eight consecutive years, surpassing 15 billion yuan in 2021 and 2022, and is now steadily moving toward breaking the 20-billion-yuan revenue mark. Additionally, the company has created over 36,000 indirect jobs in logistics, labor, and service industries, collaborates with nearly 300 businesses, and generates an estimated annual economic benefit of 1.5 billion yuan.
