December 31, 2025 – China Risun Group has successfully commissioned the first coke oven at its 1.8 million tonnes per annum (t/a) coking project in Pingxiang, Jiangxi Province, marking the Group’s inaugural production base south of the Yangtze River. The RMB 3 billion project underscores Risun’s nationwide expansion strategy and strengthens its position as a leading integrated coke and chemical producer.

The facility, operated by Pingxiang Risun Energy Co., Ltd., covers 610 acres and is designed to produce annually: 1.8 million tonnes of coke, 75,000 tonnes of coal tar, 23,500 tonnes of crude benzene, 24,700 tonnes of ammonium sulfate, and 790 million cubic meters of clean coal gas. At full capacity, it is expected to generate RMB 4 billion in revenue and RMB 200 million in tax contributions each year.

Advanced Technology and Processes

The project is equipped with 2 × 65-chamber 6.78m stamp-charging coke ovens and a 260t/h dry quenching unit with ultra-high-pressure steam turbine generator. Key innovations include: SCP integrated machine, which combining stamping, charging, and pushing – the most automated coke oven car worldwide, and the World’s largest dry quenching system, enabling waste heat recovery for self-use and grid supply. Together with Smart digital platforms for one-click coking, intelligent inspection, and safety/environmental management (“manned monitoring, unmanned operation”). Plus Fully enclosed coal yard and sealed coke oven sides, ensuring “no coal seen in use, no coke seen in production”as well as Leading process technologies: carbonization chamber pressure control, riser waste heat recovery, advanced gas desulfurization, and sulfur foam super centrifuge acid-making.

Environmental investment totals RMB 390 million (15% of project cost), enabling ultra-low emissions and annual CO₂ reduction of 380,600 tonnes.

A dedicated railway line ensures reliable raw material supply through rail-road-water transport, while 400 million cubic meters of clean coal gas will be supplied externally each year to replace coal-based gas, supporting the ceramics industry cluster in Xiangdong Industrial Park. The project will also serve regional markets in Hunan, Guangdong, and Fujian, helping fill coke supply gaps and strengthen the steel industry chain.

China Risun Group’s Pingxiang project is expected to play a pivotal role in upgrading regional industries and advancing the Group’s vision of building world-class green circular economy parks in new energy, new materials, and fine chemicals.
